Mumbai: Imagine having dinner from a table suspended 50 m in the air. Sounds bizarre? Think again! The daily dining experience is all set to touch a new high, literally, with Thailand launching its first Dinner in the Sky service. Featuring the world’s only suspended high-altitude dinner table, the system will serve gastronomic delights to 22 guests who are seated securely with specially equipped safety belts. The table, where diners can enjoy a four-course gourmet meal with astonishing views of the Bangkok skyline, is hauled into the air using a 200-tonne European telescopic boom crane.
Operated in over 45 countries, including France, USA, Holland, China, Macau, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Sweden, Taiwan, Portugal and Malaysia, Dinner in the Sky Thailand is presented in collaboration with DITS ASIA and The Emporium Group. The four-course gourmet dinner is prepared by Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. Free Uber rides for guests have also been arranged.
Dinner in the Sky Thailand is located between The Emporium Shopping Complex, the Benchasiri Park and Dinosaur Planet (right next to BTS Phrom Phong). Reservations for dinner can be made online at www.dinnerinthesky.co.th for 4,990 Baht on weekdays and 5,390 Baht on weekends, inclusive of the four-course meal. There are two flight sessions per day: Sunset at 6 pm and City Lights at 7.30 pm. The flight duration is 60 minutes.
