Mumbai: Great Destination Hotels and Resorts recently announced three new appointments at the managerial level:

Nishant Kumar has been appointed as General Manager, Great Destination Hotels and Resorts, a Bengaluru-based hospitality major started by GD Group. The group’s first property, Vividus, a business hotel is scheduled to open this February on Race Course Road, Bengaluru.

Kumar’s previous stint was with Bur Al Hickman Hospitality LLC., Oman, as Chief Operating Officer where he spearheaded four operating brands across two different countries in the Middle East. He brings 19 years of experience in the hospitality. Kumar began his career as restaurant manager Alibaba Grover Co, Pattaya, Thailand, Bawarchi Restaurant Co, Bangkok, Food and Beverages Manager at The O hotels & Ramada Bangalore, Pune, Assistant F & B Manager at Vivanta by Taj, Kovalam.

As Regional F & B Head at Ramada Hotel, he has led the F&B division with four F& B outlets with launch of Terrace Grill, a seafood and continental grill restaurant.

Arzooman Irani has been appointed as Executive Chef, Great Destination Hotels and Resorts. Born and raised in Pune, Arzooman has a Diploma in Hospitality from Australia, a degree in Professional Cooking from the Baltimore International Culinary College, USA and has a Diploma in Management studies from the Swiss Hotel Association – Les Roches, Switzerland. Whilst gaining theoretical and technical knowledge, Arzooman has also been hands on, hence making him very versatile in his trade.

During his career as a chef with the Taj Group of Hotels, he has worked at the Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Chennai; The Taj Green Cove Resort, Kovalam – Kerala; The Taj Fort Aguada Beach Resort – Goa; Vivanta by Taj – Whitefield, Bangalore; Vivanta by Taj – Bentota, Sri Lanka; Vivanta by Taj – Gurgaon and The Intercontinental, Marine Drive.

Anshul Goswami has been appointed as Director, Sales & Marketing, Great Destination Hotels and Resorts. The group’s first property, Vividus, a business hotel is scheduled to open this February on Race Course Road, Bengaluru, in time for the bi-annual Aero India, a flagship military and civil aviation event. Anshul has 13 years plus experience in the hospitality industry and worked with The Oberoi – The Wildflower Hall; The TajMahal, New Delhi; The Leela Palace, Bangalore and Howard Johnson by Wyndham  among others.
