DRMumbai: The Philadelphia Flower Show is the largest and longest-running horticultural event in the United States and features stunning displays by the world’s premier floral and landscape designers.
Started in 1829 by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Show introduces the newest plant varieties, garden and design concepts, and organic and sustainable practices. In addition to the major garden displays, the Flower Show hosts world-renowned competitions in horticulture and artistic floral arranging, gardening presentations and demonstrations, special events, a giant indoor Marketplace, and the Bloom Philly Festival in the weeks leading up to the Show.
The next Philadelphia Flower Show will take place March 2-10, 2019, with the theme, ‘Flower Power’. The 190th PHS Philadelphia Flower Show will pay tribute to the enormous impact of flowers on our lives. From the first blooms of spring in your home garden to the expansive fields that fuel whole economies, flowers influence how we feel, think and act in small and global ways. Exhibits will take a holistic approach to the theme with sweeping landscapes and artful interpretations that inspire, convey emotions, examine fragrance and colour and convey a universal language.
New this year, the Philadelphia Flower Show will host the FTD World Cup 2019, featuring floral designers from over 20 countries. The FTD World Cup, or Florists’ Transworld Delivery, is considered the most prestigious floral competition in the world. The event, held every four to six years around the globe, returns to the United States for the first time since 1985.
The Philadelphia Flower Show offers group rates and all group tours include daily horticultural and hands-on demonstrations, Marketplace shopping, free wine and spirits tastings, complimentary ticket for group leaders of groups of 40 or more people, easy drop-off and pick-up at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, dedicated restrooms and enclosed waiting area.
