Mumbai: The Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) held its annual roadshow from February 4-8, 2019 in three cities: Mumbai on February 5th, Ahmedabad on 6th and Delhi on 7th. Media events were organised in Mumbai on 4th and in Delhi on 8th.
Delegates from local tourism boards, incoming agencies and travel partners participated to showcase Austria for summer 2019. Partners from Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Swarovski Crystal Worlds informed about the growth of visitor arrivals from India in 2018 and laid down plans for 2019.
Christine Mukharji, Director, ANTO India, said, “Austria witnessed 1,92,900 arrivals from India in 2018, which was a 8.6 per cent increase from 2017 and the overnights went up to 3,51,300 which is a 8.4 per cent increase from last year. India is one of the important markets. Austria offers everything for the Indian traveller: culture, shopping and adventure sports.”
The delegation included Andreas Reiter, Innsbruck Tourismus; Cristiane Gasser, Swarovski Tourism Services; Thomas Bachinger, Vienna Tourist Board and Klemens Kollenz of Salzburg Tourist Office.
