DRMumbai: According to reports, Trujet, the no-frills carrier of the Hyderabad-based Turbo Megha Airways, has made progress under the UDAN Scheme and plans to launch the second phase of connectivity under the scheme. The airline now connects 14 major destinations in South and West India with a connectivity between Tier III cities and their nearest metropolitans.
The airliner has been awarded 20 new routes under the UDAN scheme, which will take Trujet’s expansion to Western and Eastern States. Trujet will connect Kandla, Porbandar, Keshod, Jaisalmer, Jalgaon and Nasik from Ahmedabad and Burnpur, Cooch Behar, Tezu, and Rupsi from Guwahati.
Senthil Raja, Head-Commercial, Turbo Megha Airways, said, “Trujet is now set to serve passengerswith a whole new approach. We have inducted the fifth ATR 72-600 aircraft to our fleet and will expand both our fleet and destinations. To encourage air travel, we are offering exclusive fares starting from Rs. 799.”
This ushers in the commencement of the second phase of the airline’s ‘Sky for All’ effort, where Trujet connects and promotes the unserved and underserved cities to the metropolitans. Trujet has been the first airline to complete all the route connectivity in the first bid of UDAN and now the second phase of expansion is on the cards. Travelling is no more limited to big cities anymore.
Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., the holding company of brand TruJet, is a promoter of regional connectivity routes under the scheme by providing network to Nanded, Cuddapah, Mysore, Salem and Bellary to metropolitans like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Vijayawada. Trujet is also connecting corporate and tourism sectors like Goa, Aurangabad and Rajahmundry.With a fleet of five ATR-72 aircraft, Trujet currently operates to 14 stations.
