Mumbai: Tourism in Andhra Pradesh will receive a shot in the arm with the State Government mulling execution of six marquee projects which will offer tremendous potential for investments, said Mukesh Kumar Meena IAS, Secretary, Tourism & Culture Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, on the opening day of the three-day CII Partnership Summit organised by Andhra Pradesh Tourism.

He said the Special Tourism Zone at Madhurawada and INS Viraat aircraft carrier museum in Visakhapatnam, Havelock Bridge in Rajahmundry, Bhavani Island in the middle of Krishna river in Vijayawada, Kakinada Hope Island under Swadesh Darshan Scheme in East Godavari district, and Gandikota Fort in Guntur district would be developed with private participation. The major challenge is the availability of infrastructure. Andhra Pradesh ranks third in the country after Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh in terms of domestic tourism.
