DRMumbai: Andrew Boxall has been appointed to the new role of European Managing Director for FCM Travel Solutions. Based in London he will be responsible for overseeing and growing FCM’s equity-owned businesses on the European continent, namely in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Netherlands. He reports to Steve Norris, Corporate Managing Director EMEA, Flight Centre Travel Group.
Boxall first joined Flight Centre Travel Group in 1998 and his 20-year career with the company has spanned diverse retail, procurement and corporate product roles. For the last nine years he has held the position of Managing Director for Flight Centre Travel Group in the United Arab Emirates, playing a significant part in growing the business to an annual turnover of $100 million. “I am delighted to announce Andrew’s appointment to this newly-created role for FCM in Europe,” said Steve Norris.
“Over the last two years, FCM has expanded its footprint substantially in Northern Europe after Flight Centre Travel Group made acquisitions in the Nordics and Germany. This means FCM now has an equity-owned presence in these countries instead of agency partnership agreements, giving us the platform to grow our corporate business significantly in terms of national and global clients. We see great potential to differentiate FCM in these markets with our unique value proposition of people and service, state of the art traveller-focussed technology and superior product content.”
