Mumbai: The second edition of the Bahrain Jazz Fest is set to take place on October 26, 2018. The open-air music festival will feature nine international and local jazz artistes and musicians.
It is expected to attract more than 5,000 jazz enthusiasts from Bahrain and the region.
Being organized on the scenic driving range of the award-winning Royal Golf Club’s golf course, the festival promises an unmatched experience, making it an annual feature in the national events calendar for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The festival will feature nine award-winning performances from around the world including Ana Popovic from USA; veteran Indian band Indian Ocean; The Swing Ninjas and Cut Capers from UK; The Kiffness from South Africa as well as influential Bahraini bands Likwid; Ala Ghawas and the Havaneros.
The Bahrain Jazz Fest 2018 has a sustainable community approach comprising a series of jazz workshops and local music events that run through September and October leading up to the open-air festival on October 26.
The family – friendly event is open to all ages with the doors open from 11am till 11pm and will host activities for the whole family such as interactive children’s tents, food trucks, corporate hospitality areas, activation zones and all-day markets.
The festival will also feature a second community stage that will profile up and coming bands based in Bahrain.
In line with Bahrain’s strong digital and tech focus, the organizers of the 2018 festival are adopting digital innovations such as full-fledged iOS and Android mobile apps, cashless payment systems for tickets and digital communications. The festival will continue to innovate digitally for future editions.
The Bahrain Jazz Fest is closely working with key stakeholders in the travel sector to increase inbound tourists to the Kingdom of Bahrain. From a government and semi government perspective, organizations such as BTEA ( Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority) and the Bahrain Economic Development Board are helping to create opportunities which will position the festival as a tourism driver for the mid to long term.
The festival has joined hands with GO Bahrain – one of Bahrain’s largest travel company, Go Gosaibi Travel, as the official travel partner to develop attractive travel packages and solutions for visitors flying into Bahrain for the event.
Go Gosaibi Travel is also responsible for managing the air and ground transportation for all international artistes performing at the 2018 edition in October.
Another unique feature of the festival is the complimentary park and ride service from select stations in the city, transporting jazz fest visitors to the festival venue on luxury coaches. The entire park and ride operation is being coordinated and managed by GO Bahrain team.
