New Delhi: Domestic carrier IndiGo has been awarded the Safety Excellence award in recognition of the airline’s outstanding contribution to airside safety at the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). DIAL started ‘Safety Awareness workshop’ across all three terminals at IGI Airport for all domestic airlines.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Chief Operating Officer, IndiGo said, “We are thankful to DIAL for organising the safety awareness drive and recognising IndiGo as the best safety partner amongst other domestic airlines. We believe safety is the industry’s number one priority and to ensure safe operations, we will continue to sensitise the airport operations staff both through these collaborative efforts and internal corporate training workshops.”
As part of the awareness drive, which was observed from December 17 to 21, IndiGo staff participated in street plays and well-illustrated safety checks and Foreign Object Detection (FOD) removal process. This is the second recognition for airside safety that the airline received from GMR in 2016.
