New Delhi: In an effort to position Okinawa as the next suited wedding destination in the Indian market, Japan National Tourism Organization organized a wedding seminar in Aerocity, Delhi. The seminar which was headed by JNTO and Okinawa prefecture addressed 35-40 influential wedding planners from the Delhi market.
The Okinawa prefecture consisting of pristine beaches, colorful coral reefs with an island mindset ticks all buckets of that perfect beach wedding one can dream of. There are ample of exotic beach resorts with phenomenal ceremonial sets for the wedding and romantic villas for the couple with quite an elaborate decoration.
Present at the seminar were the delegates representing Okinawa Prefecture, Rizzan Sea Park Hotel Tanchana Bay, Kariyushi Hotels Group, ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort, DMC Okinawa, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, and JNTO.
The conference began with a welcoming speech by JNTO, followed by the presentation from representatives of varied Okinawa-based hotels and resorts, and onboard airlines. There were also few presentations by the
wedding planners who were earlier taken to Okinawa, to give them an in-depth firsthand experience of the destination. They showcased the exact details, which any wedding planner would need while suggesting their clientele about a location.
“According to FICCI, India’s wedding tourism market is slated to jump to Rs. 450 billion ($6.5 billion) by 2020. The Indian market is currently witnessing a rise in the middle-class group and high spending power. Therefore, we see a high potential in this market and want to penetrate in this segment by educating the travel agents who play a very critical role in decision making. The Okinawa prefecture in Japan would definitely be the best fit for such a lifetime memorable event. We are certain that they would be allured by the beauty of Okinawa and the scenic beauty of the destination will add charm to their wedding ceremonies.” said Yusuke Yamamoto, Executive Director, Japan National Tourism Organization.
To give the attendees a feel of Okinawa culture, there was a special Okinawa Traditional music performance.
