Mumbai: EbixCash Travel will be taking over the inbound holiday business of Cox & Kings, Robin Raina, President & CEO, Ebix Inc. and EbixCash revealed in New Delhi recently. He has also informed that the company has got the former COO of Cox & Kings, J P Singh on board, who will also lead one of the divisions of the company.

In an interaction with industry stakeholders at the company’s two-day global conference, Robin Raina said EbixCash Travel is gearing up for aggressive marketing initiatives to promote and popularise itself in the India market. “EbixCash will do advertisement campaigns on Radio and TV. We have partnered with Republic TV for exclusive branding via its studio. We are also sponsoring the IPL teams Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals. Many more exciting updates will follow,” he said.

He also announced at the event that Arjun Seth, formerly associated with Pearl Travels is going to lead the B2B operations at EbixCash Travel in India. Sharing his vision, Raina said: “We want to build an end-to-end travel solution in the industry. Through acquisitions, we are not just buying travel agents but looking to empower them. Soon, we will enter into stockbroking technology for which we have formed a joint venture with Bombay Stock Exchange.”

Naveen Kundu, Managing Director – Mercury Division of EbixCash told mediapersons that the company is simply transferring the corporate agreements of Cox & Kings to ensure that the customers continue to be well serviced and looked after. “Our vast experience and success record in the corporate travel business will be key in servicing the corporates and they shall benefit from our bouquet of travel and technology products.” Meanwhile, cash-strapped Cox & Kings, which closed its Australia and New Zealand operations earlier in September, recently informed that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has terminated its license for selling tickets and asked the company to surrender its IATA ID Card.
