Mumbai: The suites at The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, India’s first luxury hotel built in 1903, offer a kaleidoscope of influences be it the design, décor or the art and sculptures. What remains constant is ‘Tajness’, the legendary hospitality of the Taj, a blend of craft mastered to perfection, spotless reputation and an authentic culture of hospitality.

Crystal chandeliers, hand-woven carpets, marble floors, colonial furniture, intricate woodworks and priceless paintings make suites at this iconic hotel a celebration of heritage, arts and culture

The Tata Suite was created in honour of the man and his vision, named after Jamshedji Tata, the founder of Taj and the Tata Group. The Rajput Suite is a perfect regal retreat reflecting the splendour of the royals of Rajputana. The Ravi Shankar Suite was conceived to commemorate the historic 1966 meeting of George Harrison and Pandit Ravi Shankar at the hotel when the former became a disciple of the latter.

Here in the suite rooms, you will find rare artefacts like Suryavanshi mirror, Mother of Pearl inlaid teak desk, Raja Ravi Varma painting, Ravi Shankar sitar, heavy brass palace door, and many more. A treasure trove of art, sculpture and culture waiting to be explored. No wonder, The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai is the second most photographed icon in India, next only to the Taj Mahal in Agra.
