Mumbai: The session ‘Visit Karlsruhe, Germany in the Summer of 2019’ was held in Mumbai in February. Karen Weber, Head of Tourism Marketing, Karlsruhe Tourism, said tour operators should introduce Karlsruhe as a standalone destination, crossover destination or a stopover destination. Weber mentioned the numerous advantages of the techno-cum-cultural capital of Baden Wuerttemberg (SouthWest Germany).

Weber highlighted the strategic location of the city of Karlsruhe and it being an entry point to the Black Forest from the Northern End. As the city has sufficient room inventory, rates are far more affordable as compared to neighbouring cities and bordering countries.

Stefanie Sprenger, who looks after International Marketing for Karlsruhe Tourism spoke at length about the MICE facilities available in the city ranging from the availability of a convention centre, high room inventory, proximity of hotels to venues and exhibition centres as well as Karlsruhe being an important railhead junction with convenient train timings to neighbouring cities and bordering countries.
