Mumbai: Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) in association with Ark Travels hosted an event for travel trade in Mumbai. Felix Chan, Vice President and General Manager, Asia, NCL; Kishan Biyani, Managing Director, Ark Travels; and Manoj Singh, Country Head India, NCL attended.

NCL’s new ship Norwegian Encore was launched in Europe in November 2019. “In the contemporary segment, it is the best product in terms of experience taking it one notch up compared to Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Joy,” said Chan.

Norwegian Encore is NCL’s 17th ship and the company today offers cruising to 300+ destinations. “Six new Leonardo Class ships – one every year from 2022 until 2027 will be added, taking our capacity up by 50 per cent,” informed Chan.

NCL is investing heavily on existing ships since last two years as part of their Edge program towards which $400 million has already been spent. NCL is currently upgrading Norwegian Spirit at a cost of $100 million. On 15 April 2020, Spirit will cruise out from Singapore, its new home port.

“An impressive repeat ratio of 40 per cent on NCL means customers are delighted with the product offering be it accommodation, entertainment, dining or other activities on board,” said Biyani. “And this is true for customers across segments, families, young adults, children, women groups or MICE.”
