Mumbai: The Union Ministry of Tourism posted a year-on-year growth of 9.9 per cent in Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) for January 2018, cited media reports. The country earned Rs.17,725 crore in January 2018 against Rs.16,135 crore in the same month in 2016.
However, this growth was almost half the recorded growth in January 2017 (18 per cent) compared to Rs.13,671 crore earned in January 2016. In terms of USD, the FEEs growth rate surged by 1 per cent in January 2018 compared to 16.6 per cent clocked in January 2017 over the same month the previous year. The Tourism Ministry estimates monthly Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) both in Rupee and Dollar terms based on the credit data of Travel Head from Balance of Payments of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
