New Delhi: Gaurav Singh has been appointed as the General Manager of JW Marriott Kolkata and Cluster General Manager, Bangladesh. In his current role, Singh will oversee all aspects of operational management and will be responsible for enhancing the productivity and guest satisfaction and implement strategic initiatives for the hotel.

Additionally, he will also administer the portfolio of hotels in Bangladesh. In his previous assignment, Singh held the position of Multi-Property General Manager of Courtyard Bengaluru and Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru.

Singh was part of the pre-opening team and credited with the launch and positioning of Marriott’s first joint venture in South Asia with the Courtyard and Fairfield Outer Ring Road complex.

He joined the Marriott family in the year 2013, when he moved to Courtyard Ahmedabad as the General Manager. An alumnus of the Mayo College, Ajmer, Singh completed his graduation in Hotel Management from WGHSA, Manipal, and holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from WMI, Gurgaon.

Singh kick started his career in 2000 as the Beverage Manager and in a short span of time became the Banquet Manager, and later became the Food & Beverage Manager at ITC Grand Maratha and ITC Grand Central, Mumbai.

Gaurav has been recognised as the General Manager of the Year by Hotelier India in 2016 and by Federation of Hotels and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI) in 2017. At the Marriott International Global Awards, he bagged four awards including the Global General Manager of the Year and Diamond Circle in April 2018.
