Mumbai: What happens when all the adventure enthusiasts from the city come under one roof? The answer – unimaginable fun! Bengaluru witnessed a thrilling amalgamation of two independent film events, the Banff’s International Adventure Film Festival and IMF Mountain Film Festival organised by Trip 360˚.
The film festival held in Bengaluru treated more than 300 adventure junkies to an incredible line of film screenings and events. Several world-renowned adventure films were screened during the two-day festival.
The organisers also announced an exclusive Ice Climbing Course for the attendees at the festival. The special 5-day beginner’s course on how to climb frozen waterfalls will be held in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, from December to January.
The first day of the festival witnessed screenings of successful films including Surf the Line (2016, France), Ascend (2017, USA), Loved by All: The Story of Apa Sherpa (2017, Canada) and Dreamwalkers: The Faroes Project (2017, Australia). The second day was all about the Indian adventure films under IMF Mountain Festival that screened The Great Indian Tamasha, Mountain Mothers, An Uncertain Winter and Munsiari Mountain Biking.
Besides the medley of films, the participants made most of the three-hour workshop on mountain climbing by Abhijeet Singh, a yogi, ice climber and photographer.
The workshop was curated for aspirational climbers, enthusiasts and intermediate-level mountaineers alike. Intermixing practical strength and core training along with equipment study, preparation and theory were some significant aspects covered in the workshop.
Day two saw an exciting Instagram photo contest, the winners of which were felicitated and presented a free trek with Trip 360˚.
The festival was interspersed with engaging talks by experts as well as filmmakers. Neil Dsouza, a filmmaker, Abhijeet Singh and Sajid Chougle, Trip 360˚ experts and athletes, among others, were answered queries related to living an adventurous lifestyle.
The Adventure Film Festival was held in July at the Mother Tekla Auditorium, M G Road, Bengaluru.
