Mumbai: The Global DMC Network by JTB Group focuses on the Indian market by organising a multi-city roadshow in January 2019. The host cities will be New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai respectively on January 21, 23 and 24.
The purpose hereof is to introduce the Group’s services to Indian travel agencies and help them to plan long-haul trips for their potential customers. At each roadshow, over 200 agents will be invited to participate in sessions with six DMCs from Asia Pacific, Europe, Japan and Korea: Tour East, Tumlare Destination Management, Kuoni Global Travel Services, Europamundo Vacaciones, JTB Global Marketing & Travel, Inc., and LOTTE JTB.
This roadshow comes at a time where long-haul travel from India is increasing. According to Euromonitor International, in 2017, outbound departures from India reached 17 million, an increase of 1.6 million from the previous year (16,335.8). More travellers are visiting further destinations, with Thailand, the US, Singapore and France at the top.
“With this gradual increase of long-haul travel, India has become a key source market for the world,” stated Abrar Uppal, senior manager for the Global DMC Network by JTB Group. “Now is the prime time to show soon-to-be travellers what opportunities we can offer, giving them the choice and ease of mind when deciding where to travel.”
