Mumbai: Celebrating 260 years, Cox & Kings Ltd., the oldest and leading tour operator with operations in 22 countries across continents, has collaborated with ‘VisitBritain’ to promote Great Britain in India. The joint marketing collaboration will promote Great Britain through innovative advertisements and contests in the Indian market.

The campaign focuses on the varied offerings of Great Britain, including its signature Rail Journeys, delectable cuisine and experiential tours. To popularise the campaign further and garner participation across digital platforms, a unique contest with hashtags #LoveToTravel and #ExploreFourCorners were launched.

Cox & Kings along with VisitBritain rolled out the #LoveToTravel contest to encourage travellers to share their travel experience on social media. Special prizes including a free trip to the UK were announced for those with the most innovative travel video and pitch.

On the collaboration, Karan Anand, Head, Relationships, Cox & Kings Ltd., said, “Indians love Great Britain for its picturesque countryside and most alluring experiences. We bring to our clientele a wide range of travel experiences that largely remain undiscovered. The campaign has successfully attracted the attention of the discerning travellers in India. We are glad to promote Great Britain not only as a summer destination but a year-round one.”

The joint promotions have been designed around Great Britain’s three most essential offerings – rail journeys, food and drink itineraries and experiential tours. While the discerning travellers can select one of the wide options of rail tours in the UK, they can choose from the most comprehensive and select journeys for an extraordinary trip. The tourism board along with Cox & Kings have also entwined enticing food and drink tours, giving an opportunity to gourmets to discover the country beyond its scenic sites.

Tricia Warwick, Interim Director APMEA, VisitBritain, said, “Britain is packed with amazing experiences all year round and with our visitor attractions, hotels and shops offering good value for Indian travellers, 2018 is great time to travel. From the vibrancy of Britain’s cool cities to its stunning countryside, from its local food and drink experiences to exciting sporting events, we want to inspire visitors to book a trip right now. VisitBritain is excited to continue our global partnership with Cox & Kings and further raise Britain’s profile as a great place to visit for Indian tourists.”

‘London and Beyond’, ‘Belmond Royal Scotsman’, ‘Royal Heritage’, ‘Exploring England, North Wales and Scotland’ and ‘Scotland at its Best’ are few of the fascinating rail journeys that are being promoted through the ongoing campaign. Visitors can watch the impressive structures such as Tower Bridge, Big Ben and London Eye and rejuvenate themselves at the Thermal Bath with a natural hot spring spa while they traverse through any of the glorious rail journeys. Indians can also explore the countryside or the scenic sights combined with city tours through the experiential packages.
