14 (Presidential, Signature and Grand Luxury) of the 42 suites have a spectacular view of the oceans. The suites of this iconic hotel have played host to heads of state, demanding connoisseurs, monarchs, maharajahs, ebullient bon vivants, flamboyant captains of industry and iconoclastic artists from across the globe.
Staying at any suite room here will set you back by at least seven lakh rupees a night and come with airport transfers, butler service, access to Palace Lounge and Taj Club facilities. There are three Signature suites, one Presidential suite, 10 Grand Luxury suites and 5 Luxury suites, each featuring an exclusive theme. The remaining 23 are Executive suites designed according to two different colour themes, either ‘Sunlight’ inspired or following an ‘Aubergine’ palette.
Each an epitome of luxury, grandeur, and sheer opulence. The Presidential and Signature suites are not available online for booking though enquiries can be made offline. The Presidential Suite is currently undergoing refurbishment.
The Tata Suite was created in honour of the man and his vision, named after Jamshedji Tata, the founder of Taj and the Tata Group. The Rajput Suite is a perfect regal retreat reflecting the splendour of the royals of Rajputana. The Ravi Shankar Suite was conceived to commemorate the historic 1966 meeting of George Harrison and Pandit Ravi Shankar at the hotel when the former became a disciple of the latter.
Here in the suite rooms, you will find rare artefacts like Suryavanshi mirror, Mother of Pearl inlaid teak desk, Raja Ravi Varma painting, Ravi Shankar sitar, heavy brass palace door, and many more. A treasure trove of art, sculpture and culture waiting to be explored. No wonder, The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai is the second most photographed icon in India, next only to the Taj Mahal in Agra.
