Mumbai: Devesh Rawat has been appointed as General Manager of Indore Marriott Hotel, the largest premium 5-Star Hotel in Madhya Pradesh. Prior to joining Indore Marriott Hotel, he was with Sheraton Grand, Bengaluru, at Brigade Gateway where he was duly recognised as ‘the most Inspirational Leader’ in 2014.

Devesh took over his new assignment as part of the pre-opening of the hotel and has put his leadership skills into action to train and lead the team. He played a pivotal role in launching the property successfully. His role includes overseeing and monitoring all departments, managing the commercial and operational strategy and performance of the hotel, ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards and safeguarding the quality of both operations (internal & external audits).

Devesh brings with him 18 years of rich experience of working with luxury hotels and resorts. He began his career at The Oberoi Raj Vilas, Jaipur. In 2004, he moved to Renaissance Mumbai Hotel and Convention Centre and gradually climbed up the ladder as Director of Restaurants and Catering.

He was also promoted as Asst. Director of F&B at JW Marriott (Juhu), followed by The Leela Palace Kempinski, Bangalore, as the F&B Manager. Throughout his career, he proved to be one of the strongest pillars of the F&B industry as he simultaneously won many awards and accolades year-on-year such as Outstanding Team award, President’s Award, Asia Pacific Division 2013, Best F&B Leader, RVP (Regional Vice President) South Asia (in 2012 & 2013) and Best F&B Team, RVP South Asia (in 2012 & 2013), to name a few. Devesh is an alumnus of Institute of Hotel Management, Lucknow.

On his appointment, Devesh said, “It is an honour to be associated with the Indore Marriott Hotel since its pre-opening phase. Indore is an untapped market, however, now it is emerging as one the most sought-after destinations for both leisure and business travellers in India.”

He further added, “We are in the business of providing a memorable experience and my vision has always been to make a hotel a destination within a destination. In this six month span at Indore Marriott Hotel, we have hosted many guests such as International Cricket Team, Indian Premier League (IPL), Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, Embassy diplomats and top business delegates and organised destination weddings.”
