New Delhi: The PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) India Chapter will host ‘Tourism PowerHouse’ on August 5 and 6 2018 at The Park Hotel, New Delhi. This initiative is an incredible opportunity to hear and meet eminent international and national tourism leaders and domain experts talking about tourism trends, opportunities and marketing options globally and in the region. This will not only help grow one’s business but also align it to meet expectations of international tourists and travellers.

“PATA India and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India have been mulling over bringing together global minds to brainstorm on how tourism can leapfrog to India and the region in the coming years. Tourism PowerHouse 2018 is the outcome of that conversation we have been having,” said Runeep Sangha, Executive Director, PATA India Chapter.

The two-day event will be presided over by Rashmi Verma, both in her capacity as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Chairperson, PATA India Chapter, and Dr. Mario Hardy, CEO, PATA. Secretary Verma will share her thoughts on ‘Harnessing Growth’ while CEO Hardy will speak about the ‘Impact of the Visitor Economy’. The keynote address on ‘Tourism Trends and Opportunities’ will be delivered by Prof. John Koldowski from Leshan Normal University, Sichuan Province, China. Hon. Secretary, PATA India Chapter will welcome the gathering and Vikram Madhok, Hon. Treasurer will propose the vote of thanks.

On day 2, Taranjeet Singh, Country Director, Twitter India; Nikhil Ganju, Country Manager, TripAdvisor India; and Kaushik Dasgupta, Industry Head – Travel, Google India will discuss ‘The Fire Power of Digital Marketing’ in a session moderated by Punit Kapoor, Head of Digital marketing, Mc Cann. Kapil Kaul, CEO & Director, CAPA South Asia will speak on ‘Scaling 30 million Tourist Arrivals’ while Oliver Martin, Partner, Twenty31 Consulting will share his thoughts on ‘Winning the Millennial Traveller’.

The panel discussion on ‘Enabling Growth through Disruptive Tourism’ will see the participation of Sriram Vaidhya, Head of Airbnb Trips, Southeast Asia & India; Jens Oreel, Founding CEO, Octotrip and Mathew Powell, Managing Director – MESA, Travelport. Massimo Tocchetti, President, AIGO will address the delegates on ‘Luxury Tourism Trends’.

Travel industry stakeholders may attend the Tourism PowerHouse 2018 to gain from the various subjects it will address and help gear up for the future.
