Mumbai: Heike Birlenbach, Sr. Vice President – Sales, Lufthansa Hub Airlines and Chief Commercial Officer, Hub Frankfurt, said that Lufthansa had no plans for expansion in India in the near future. In Delhi to participate in a technology startup expo co-hosted by Lufthansa for TiE Delhi, she ruled out plans for route or capacity expansion in the India market adding that India is well-served by the airline with 62 weekly frequencies currently from its three hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.

As for the airlines’ role as co-host for the startup expo with TiE, she called it a “brand positioning” exercise to support startup initiatives, providing them with a platform to showcase their innovative ideas before prospective investors, venture capital, etc.
